THE IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING THE PROFESSION OF «GUIDE WITH KNOWLEDGE OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES» FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TOURISM INDUSTRY

   With the continuous development of modern techniques and technology, professions and jobs in various sectors of the economy are also developing. The demand for professions and professional skills is constantly changing, and the conditions of the internal and external labor market are also changing.

   The tourism sector is one of the most important sectors of the economy in any country in the world. This sector has its own special requirements and conditions in each country, and its development helps to increase the level of profitability of the people and the economy itself. It is worth mentioning that one of the most demanding professions in the labor market is the profession of «Guide with knowledge of foreign languages».

   A guide is an expert who knows the places of interest (museum, teahouse, hotel, valleys and foothills, etc.) of the city or the place where he is located, and is well aware of the history and culture of the area, and can introduce the guests to that place if necessary.

   There are several types of guides: excursion guide, mountain guide, museum guide, guide with knowledge of foreign languages, etc. Currently, the need for «Guide with knowledge of foreign languages» is high in the country's labor market. With the development of tourism in the country, the demand for such professions is increasing. The holder of the profession of a guide must have good communication skills between people and speak a foreign language fluently.

   As part of the implementation of the Project «Skills and Employability Enhancement» by the developers of educational modules and experts from ministries and agencies, a functional map of the profession «Guide with knowledge of foreign languages» was developed.

   During the development of the functional map, all the requirements for the profession: the set of knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes towards it, as well as the development of career opportunities in the near future, are thoroughly discussed by specialists and experts, and as a result, the functions and tasks performed are fully expressed.

   Based on the functional map, the competency standard and educational programs and materials for the profession «Guide with knowledge of foreign languages» will be developed, and citizens will be involved in learning the skills of this profession through modular training courses at the Job Center in Dushanbe.
