Competency Standards

Standard – a normative document developed and approved by an authorized body, defining normative requirements, rules, descriptions or general principles applicable to various types of activity or their results. The purpose of this document is to achieve the best level of the system in this area.
Professional competency standard – a document defining normative requirements for the minimum knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes (i.e. competencies) that are necessary for a certain level of professional qualification that a person must demonstrate in the workplace in standard or variable situations. Any work can be performed above the established standard, but in no case below it. The competency standard helps the employer determine the compliance of the qualification level with production requirements, recognizes the professional qualities of a person and confirms the constant maintenance of his high professional level.
The competency standard is developed on the basis of a functional map prepared and verified jointly with highly qualified specialists from ministries and departments, associations and employers in the industry. The CBT methodology also requires that the competency standard be developed in close cooperation with industry experts in order to define job functions and tasks, especially the necessary skills in demand in the labor market for employment in a given profession, and at the same time, improve the quality of employee training, which will increase their chances of employment. In accordance with the requirements of the CBT methodology, each competency standard is verified by employers and industry associations and agreed upon with relevant ministries and departments.
