MEETING WITH THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE JOINT PROJECT OF UNESCO AND THE EUROPEAN UNION

   In the Project Administration Group of «Skills and Employability Enhancement Project», was held a meeting of the project manager Mr. Safarov Daler with representatives of the joint project of UNESCO and the European Union Margaret Sach – Head of the Division of Inclusive Quality Education of the Regional Bureau of Education for Asia and the Pacific at UNESCO Bangkok, Hiromichi Katayama –program specialist of youth, literacy and skill development department at UNESCO Paris, Nurbek Teleshaliev, Curriculum Specialist at UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty, Sumaya Magnouj - Curriculum Reform and Evaluation Policy Expert at UNESCO Bangkok, Vladimir Briller - International Consultant, Anna Yermakova - Leading International Consultant.

   During the meeting, the parties discussed various issues related to competency-based training, the system of professional education in Tajikistan, etc. In particular, the project manager spoke about the successful implementation of the Project «Strengthening Technical - Vocational Education and Training», the experience of developing functional maps, competency standards, programs and educational materials for 17 labor professions, repair and restoration of target institutions, implementation of training programs.

   Also, were noted the goals and objectives of «Skills and Employability Enhancement Project», construction of Job centers and Migrant service centers, training courses, development of standards of professional competence in various sectors of the country's economy, and noted that already functional maps of 8 labor professions were developed with the participation of experts from ministries and agencies, associations and representatives of various organizations.

   The representatives of UNESCO noted that within the framework of their project, they are working on competence-based training of teachers and development of textbooks on natural-mathematical subjects, computer technologies and engineering.
