1st day of ISFT

On May 28th, the first day of the International Forum on Professional Skills "Tajikistan 2026" took place at Job Center in the Dangara district. The Center operates as part of the "Skills and Employability Enhancement Project" of the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan.
This forum is organized and held with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan with the aim of showcasing the professional skills potential of the country's citizens, sharing international experience, and thereby strengthening regional and international cooperation.
The international event was opened by the Minister of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Honorable Kholmahmadzoda Soleha, noted that, thanks to the initiative and caring educational policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Honorable Emomali Rahmon, favorable conditions have been created for training young people in trades and crafts, enhancing their professional and life skills, and exploring modern science and knowledge. Mr. Ko Sakamoto, Resident Representative of the Asian Development Bank in the Republic of Tajikistan, noted in his speech that holding such a forum is timely and important, as it provides young professionals with the opportunity to exchange skills and professional experience, which in turn will strengthen the development of friendly relations between the countries. Specialists are learning about technological developments and innovations in various fields. Mr. Sakamoto expressed satisfaction with the project's progress and achievements.
The forum will include a competition for the professions of "Electrician," "Plumber," "Gas and Electric Welder," and "Solar Energy Equipment Installer" among representatives of primary and secondary vocational schools from Central Asian countries, the Republic of Turkey, and the People's Republic of China. Young people aged 17 to 35 will participate in the competition.
It is worth noting that the "Skills and Employability Enhancement Project" project is being implemented under grant agreements between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank under the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan.
As part of the project, modern vocational training and service centers have been established in the cities of Khujand, Bokhtar, and the Vos district, and in the cities of Dushanbe, Rogun, and the Dangara districts. These centers, based on the principles of a new competency-based educational methodology, offer short-term courses, recognition of professional competence, and development of professional skills in 20 priority professions in the energy, construction, tourism, and agricultural sectors.
