      On September 15, 2022, in the meeting hall of the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan, a seminar focusing on the Theory and Practice of the International Standard Classification of Occupations-08 and the Implementation of the Classification of Occupations in the Republic of Tajikistan was held. The seminar was attended by representatives from relevant ministries and agencies, the Union of Employers of Tajikistan, the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Tajikistan, members of industry working groups, and employees of the PAG. The seminar was moderated by the Deputy Minister of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan, Nurullo Mahmudullozoda, the project manager for the Skills and Employability Enhancement Project, Safarov Daler, and the coordinator for ISCO-08, Malikov Tavakkal.

      Deputy Minister Nurullo Mahmadullozoda opened the event, welcomed the attendees, and encouraged active participation in the seminar, inviting them to share their suggestions and remarks related to the topic.

      During the seminar, Olimjon Nasritdinov, a specialist in monitoring and evaluation, presented a project related to the theoretical and practical aspects of the International Standard Classification of Occupations-2008 (ISCO-08). He discussed the necessity of establishing the National Classification of Occupations for the Republic of Tajikistan in accordance with ISCO-08, the tasks associated with implementing the Classification of Occupations in the Republic of Tajikistan, the development of a list of occupations, the creation of a digital ISCO-08 database and its integration with the relevant portals of the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment, the translation of ISCO-08 into Tajik, its refinement, and its implementation in various economic and social sectors of the country. ISCO-08 Coordinator - Malikov Tavakkal presented and fully elaborated on the proposed topic.

     In conclusion, seminar participants discussed the proposed topics and expressed their readiness to assist in adapting ISCO-08 and developing the Classification of Occupations for the Republic of Tajikistan.
